La British Academy of Film and Television Arts el 18 de enero nos anunció los nominados para los premios BAFTA del 2011. En la noche del 13 de febrero nos anuncia sus ganadores, un evento que nos sigue dando pistas de lo que sucederá en los Oscar 😉

Festival de Cannes 2010

Como sucede todos los años a principios de enero, justo cuando todo el mundo está interesado en cine con los Golden Globes, los BAFTA y los mismos Oscar, se lanza el programa de Cannes y se anuncia la presidencia del jurado, este año Tim Burton y aunque fue recibido con glorioso entusiasmo hoy en día, el iconoclasta director lanza en mi un bostezo más que alguna ilusión. Lo había dicho antes y lo confirmo ahora, el arte de Burton se glorifica mejor en su plástica que en su última cinematografía, haciéndose repetitivo, aburridor y muy predecible.

Obviamente, es innegable el recorrido de este gran director y lo que le ha aportado al cine de género, de autor y la cultura popular por eso el gran entusiasmo de los realizadores del Festival, Gilles Jacob y Thierry Frémaux, quienes toman su genio como visionario, creativo e innovador en el futuro del cine. Respetable.

Aunque cada vez el número de pelis crece en suscripciones al parecer la labor del Festival crece en responsabilidad para mantenerse abierto y honesto en su sensibilidad y en su buen juicio para lograr un listado de concursantes ecléctico, de muy buena factura y con una alta porción de ingenio. El listado es impresionante y resuenan dentro de él casi como estrellas de rock Mike Leigh, Abbas Kiarostami, Takeshi Kitano y hasta el mismo Alejandro González Iñarritú (sin contar el resto de realizadores que fueron invitados para mostrar sus obras, la industria de Hollywood que cada vez ve como el lanzamiento de sus éxitos de taquilla tienen tan buena acogida y la recopilación de pelis clásicas para el placer de los cinéfilos).
